COURSE OVERVIEW
The Level Two UAL in Creative Digital Media Production is a rigourous specialist vocational programme, with a strong work related emphasis. It offers practical units combined with an extensive range of teaching and learning methods that enhance the learners’; self confidence. A range of disciplines are taught on the course in order to maximise learners’; skills base and improve employability. This course offers an opportunity to gain some of the necessary skills required to work in the media industry. You will use professional software packages such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Microsoft Office. Learn by doing work based projects where you are required to research, plan and present a ‘live’; project. On the course you will study subjects such as ‘Photography’;, ‘Digital Moving Image’; and ‘Animation’; to improve your knowledge and professionalism in various areas of the media.
In addition to the main qualification you will also be expected to study GCSEs in Maths and English. These are assessed via presentations, assignments and time constrained examinations.
You will be expected to spend approximately 15 hours each week studying in College.
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is suitable for 16-18 who have achieved GCSE in English at a 4 or higher.
If an applicant does not achieve this by the start of the course they will be offered a place on the Level 1/E3 course where they will have the opportunity to build their subject specialism skills and focus on achieving 4 or higher in their Maths and/or English GCSE
After successful completion of the course students can progression onto the Level 3 UAL in Creative Media Production or progression into employment.
Assessment will be mainly through project and assignment work. At the end of the academic year students will complete an independent project that forms part of their external assessment.
